Coronavirus infection rates are declining in West Bengal

The epidemic of coronavirus has once again died over 60 people in West Bengal in one day. Earlier on August 5, the death toll in Corona was 61. Exactly the same number of people have died in the state in the last 24 hours.

According to a bulletin released by the state health department on Wednesday night, 3,237 people have been newly infected with covid in the last 24 hours. In all, the total number of corona patients in the state is now two lakh 12 thousand 383 people.

Two thousand 971 people have recovered in the state in 24 hours. Overall, the number of patients who have recovered is now one lakh 84 thousand 113. The number of active corona patients has increased to 24,187.

A total of 4,123 people have died in Corona so far in the state. Although mortality has increased, the rate of infection has decreased slightly. The infection rate on Tuesday was 7.14 percent. On Wednesday, it has decreased slightly to 7.08 percent.

According to the state health department, 506 people have been infected in the northern 24 parganas. In Kolkata, however, 474 people were found to be corona positive. Apart from these two districts, the situation is worrying in other districts as well.

229 in West Midnapore, 118 in South 24 Parganas, 172 in Hughli, 110 in West Burdwan, 87 in East Burdwan, 133 in East Midnapore, 192 in Howrah, 104 in Nadia, 102 in Malda, 105 in Murshidabad and 111 in Bankura. 120 people were newly infected in Purulia, 99 in Alipurduar, 93 in Kochbihar and 104 in Darjeeling.

However, the death toll in Kolkata is the highest in the state. 15 people lost their lives in the metropolis. 11 people died in North 24 Parganas. 6 people died in Howrah. 4 people have also died in East Burdwan.
